Care & Grip
Look after the grip and the grip will outlast the sock
Silicone grip does not wear out from use. It wears out from heat. Follow these four rules and your socks will hold for years.
1. Wash cold, inside out
Turn the sock inside out so the grip faces inward and is protected from abrasion against the drum. Cold water, gentle cycle. A mesh laundry bag helps.
2. Never tumble dry
This is the one that matters most. Tumble dryer heat softens silicone and lifts it off the knit. Hang to dry, away from direct sun.
3. Never iron the sole
For the same reason. If you must press the cuff, keep the iron away from the footbed entirely.
4. Skip the fabric softener
Softener leaves a film that coats the silicone and makes it slippery — the opposite of what you bought it for. Plain detergent only.
If the grip feels slippery
It is almost always residue, not wear. Wash once in warm — not hot — water with plain detergent and no softener, then hang to dry. The tack usually comes straight back.
